This role is responsible for the overall management of an assigned loan management function within Situs Asset Management (SAM) and will oversee daily operations and reporting obligations for our clients’ portfolios of commercial real estate loans. This position involves a high level of interaction and communication between management, SAM staff as well as clients and various 3rd parties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of loan management personnel, fostering a culture of internal cooperation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage client expectations, serve as initial point of contact for conflict notification, process clarification and personnel issues; escalate to SVPs where appropriate.
  • Manage the review and communication of client pipeline information to Loan Management Leadership, highlighting material impacts to the business.
  • Review task allocation for direct reports daily/weekly/monthly to ensure an appropriate level of utilization for all team members; provide guidance and where needed to drive efficiency, engagement and accountability.
  • Lead and provide guidance to loan management teams regarding the interpretation of complex loan documents including mortgages, deeds of trust, loan agreements, commitment letters and servicing agreements. Identify specific process requirements based on client expectations and implement solutions to ensure consistent and compliant service delivery. 
  • Execute initiatives to formalize processes and procedures to ensure loan management teams produce consistent deliverables, comply with loan and client level contractual requirements, adhere to internal control requirements / audit standards and are completed in accordance with stated service levels and regulatory requirements.
  • Support a strong risk management and control environment for respective teams, promote adherence to company standards, collaborate effectively with internal and external audit, drive accountability for issue remediation and ensure all audit observations are addressed with effective and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Ensure teams under management adhere to quality control frameworks across loan management functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational integrity. Review performance metrics to drive continuous improvement, mitigate risk, and uphold service excellence across all processes.
  • Escalate non-compliant issues to Senior Vice President and/or Senior Management (as appropriate) through detailed verbal and written communication. Lead root cause analysis to identify underlying systemic problems or training gaps and develop sustainable remediation solutions.
  • Review key performance indicators (KPIs) to track loan management personnel performance, adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and defect occurrences to identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with Supervisor to determine action plans as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying team performance trends and proposing enhancements to processes through workflow optimization, quality control refinements and report automation.
  • Support culture of continuous, sustainable process improvement focused on efficiency, accuracy and scalability.  Drive cross-functional adoption of new systems and processes through strategic change management and accountability to ensure initiatives are successfully implemented across impacted functional areas.
  • Support business continuity framework designed by leadership to ensure uninterrupted and compliant operations in the event of unplanned absence or other business disruption; provide guidance to team members where necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion of loan management specific training for new hires and required training hours for all loan management personnel.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and strategic relationships with department leaders to ensure timely and accurate work product, ultimately delivering excellent client service and high customer satisfaction.
  • Manage escalated borrower concerns to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Other activities may be assigned by your manager.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with preferred field of study in real estate, finance/accounting, business or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 8+ years of industry and/or combination of relevant experience, typically with 2+ years in an AVP level role or external equivalent
  • Experience in commercial real estate, particularly in areas such as cash management, loan servicing, and escrow management.
  • Build and maintain strategic client relationships as a trusted advisor and escalation point, ensuring service alignment.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of loan management professionals, fostering a culture of internal cooperation, accountability, and continuous improvement. 
  • Ability to collaborate with all functional verticals and respective leaders to assist with the execution of business's strategic goals and initiatives while fostering an environment of collaboration and cooperation to ensure success of day-to-day deliverables.                          
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage and present to stakeholders and all levels of the business.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to address complex issues and provide clear recommendations for resolution.   
  • Ability to lead a team performing in a fast paced, high-volume environment by providing guidance on task workflow, prioritization and meeting requisite deadlines
  • Ability to influence adoption of new software applications, new processes on various technology platforms and manage occasional testing by loan management for new technology deployments     
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.           
  • Experience with industry-related technologies such as Enterprise! McCracken Strategy, LSTA, Misys and/or Backshop is a plus.

The annual full time base salary range for this role is

$90,000.00 - $125,000.00

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
