Heart of House Manager serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of housing facilities, ensuring that all housing related areas are well-maintained, compliant with local regulations, Resort policies and procedures and the wellbeing of the Team Members. This role involves supervising Team Members, handling Team Member relations, managing budgets, and ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming living environment for all Team Members

   

Specifically, as the Heart of House Manager for Waldorf Astoria Maldives you will perform the following tasks to the highest standards: 

  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of housing facilities and accommodation.

  • Coordinate and supervise repair and maintenance work.

  • Ensure Housing facilities and accommodations comply with Resort policies and local regulations.

  • Address Team Member inquiries, complaints, and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure Team Member satisfaction and resort standards.

  • Facilitate Team Member move-ins and move-outs, including conducting orientations and exit inspections.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise housing Team Members, including maintenance works and administrative functions related to housing.

  • Schedule and manage the work of housing team, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient operations.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing support and development opportunities for Team Members.

  • Develop and manage housing section expenses within department budget

  • Monitor and control expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Prepare required financial reports and forecasts for yearly budgeting process in timely manner.

  • Implement and enforce safety and security protocols for all housing facilities.

  • Coordinate emergency response and preparedness plans.

  • Conduct regular safety drills and inspections to ensure Team Member safety.

  • Foster a positive living environment through community-building activities and events.

  • Liaise with local organizations and government agencies to enhance housing services.

  • Develop and implement programs to support Team Member well-being and engagement.

  • Perform any task deemed necessary by the General Manager/Hotel Manager for the efficient running of the Department and the Resort in general

  • Develop and execute annual CAPEX plans for Team Member accommodation, recreational facilities, and Heart of House areas to enhance functionality, safety, and overall Team Member satisfaction. 

  • Identify, prioritize, and recommend infrastructure improvement projects for Team Member facilities, ensuring alignment with resort standards and long-term asset management strategies. 

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic standards across all Team Member housing and Heart of House facilities

  • Conduct regular audits of Team Member facilities and implement corrective action plans to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized living environment.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Finance departments to plan, budget, and execute refurbishment projects for Team Member accommodations and welfare facilities.

  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of Team Member recreational, dining, fitness, and welfare facilities to improve the overall Team Member experience.

  • Implement sustainable practices and environmental initiatives within Team Member housing and Heart of House operations to support the resort's sustainability objectives.

  • Establish and maintain accommodation standards, room allocation procedures, and inventory management systems to ensure efficient utilization of available housing resources.

  • Drive initiatives that promote Team Member engagement, comfort, and well-being, including improvements to communal spaces, recreational areas, and support facilities.

  • Monitor industry best practices and emerging trends in Team Member housing and welfare management, recommending innovative solutions to enhance the Team Member living experience and operational efficiency

The Heart of House Manager serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in property or housing management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role in a luxury Resort/Hotel

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Innovative, action oriented individual able to identify and implement results-oriented housing strategies for the hotel.

  • Ability to work under pressure. 

  • Strong leadership skills and team management skills. 

  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality.

  • Possess high degree of stamina, agility, and flexibility

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and property management software is a plus

  • Solid understanding of budgeting and financial management

  • Knowledge of housing regulations and compliance requirements
