Job Summary
We are looking for a high-energy, entrepreneurial Business Development Representative to join an early-stage UK startup at the ground floor. The team has developed Felicity, a cutting-edge AI front desk solution designed to revolutionize how estate and letting agents handle 24/7 inquiries. In this role, you won't just be a cog in a machine; you will be the driving force behind the company’s initial market expansion. This is a unique opportunity for a hungry, self-starting professional to move beyond lead generation into full-cycle sales and leadership as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end outbound prospecting process, including cold calling, cold emailing, and leveraging social selling to build a robust pipeline.
- Educate UK residential property businesses on the value of AI-driven lead qualification and automated communication.
- Manage and nurture leads within the CRM to ensure a seamless handoff and conversion process.
- Transition into delivering high-impact product demos and closing deals as you gain mastery of the product and market.
- Represent the team at industry events and networking functions to build brand presence.
- Provide direct feedback to the founding team to help shape the product roadmap and sales strategy based on market insights.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales development, lead generation, or outbound sales roles.
- Proven ability to generate new business opportunities through cold calling, cold emailing, LinkedIn outreach, networking, and other outbound prospecting methods.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of pipeline generation activities with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage decision-makers.
- Experience booking qualified meetings and managing prospects through the early stages of the sales process.
- Confident presenting products or services and conducting discovery conversations or product demonstrations.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and driven to exceed targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage or startup environment where responsibilities may evolve over time.
- Ability to learn new products, industries, and customer pain points quickly.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with sales engagement tools, prospecting platforms, and outbound sequencing tools is advantageous.
- Previous experience in SaaS, technology, AI, or PropTech industries is beneficial but not essential.
- Demonstrated initiative through side projects, entrepreneurial ventures, building products, freelance work, or other self-directed achievements is highly valued.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset, with a willingness to test new approaches and improve sales processes.
- Ambition to progress into closing, account executive, or sales leadership positions over time.
