Accountabilities:
- Lead the end-to-end credit and collections function, ensuring timely collections, improved cash flow, reduced Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and minimized bad debt exposure.
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness through financial analysis and risk assessments, establishing and adjusting credit limits to support responsible business growth.
- Oversee large-scale accounts receivable operations, monitoring aging reports, unapplied cash, customer deductions, collection performance, and financial risk indicators.
- Partner with Sales, Account Management, Accounting, and Operations teams to resolve invoice disputes, billing issues, purchase order discrepancies, and payment obstacles.
- Develop accurate cash flow forecasts, executive reporting, and portfolio risk assessments to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Credit and Collections team by establishing clear objectives, promoting accountability, and fostering continuous professional growth.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and enhancements to credit policies, collections workflows, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
- Support organizational compliance by adhering to security policies, completing required training, identifying potential risks, and contributing to remediation efforts as needed.
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, finance operations, or related financial leadership roles.
- Previous experience managing and developing high-performing credit and collections teams.
- Demonstrated success overseeing a complex accounts receivable portfolio valued at $1.1 billion or greater.
- Strong expertise in commercial credit analysis, customer risk assessment, collections strategy, dispute resolution, and enterprise-level accounts receivable management.
- Experience working within large B2B environments, including managing customer contracts, purchase orders, and complex payment processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting tools; experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP platform is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven capacity to influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, operational excellence, customer relationship management, and data-driven decision-making.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $140,000 to $166,000 USD (New York City range; compensation may vary by location).
