Pulmonary Registered Nurse, Full Time, Days 8a-4p, Gagnon 3-Pulmonary, Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.


Principal Accountabilities:

Provides patient education and performs chart reviews for COPD and Pneumonia patients and readmissions

Runs AHMMC COPD and Pneumonia readmission review committee monthly

Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) certification required to provide CTTS counseling to AH MMC inpatients referred for counseling

Better Breathers and Quit Smoking program lead

Pre and intra op procedural bronchoscopy coverage, as needed

1. Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
2. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
3. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
4. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
5. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
6. Records patient vital signs and medical information.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required

Bachelors’ Degree of Nursing preferred-All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date

Master’s degree in nursing preferred

 

License & Certifications:

Current NJ (New Jersey) Registered Nurse License required

BLS and ACLS required

Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) certified preferred or  required to get within 2 months of start date

 

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year Acute care RN experience

Procedural/ bronchoscopy experience
