The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Minneapolis, MN; Davenport, IA; or Cedar Rapids, IA.
- This position will be focused on coordination between the BDS programs , Site Supplier Quality, and Supplier Quality and Program Management Partner teams (Advanced Quality & Readiness, GFO, Regional Ops) to ensure the right preventive (Early Quality Initiative) and reactive actions are planned, implemented and communicated holistically to improve the performance of the supply base and meet program and customer needs.
- This includes the following RAA: Ensure meetings are being planned and executed with suppliers. Data Analysis- Engage and utilize all resources within SQ&PM (i.e. RCR, APQP, PRA’s, etc)- Partner with Site SQ and the associated Program Functional Partners (including Supply Chain) to understand supplier challenges and help needed. Act as liaison between all teams to track actions to facilitate improvement for the supplier challenges. Develop standard cadence between supplier and teams when working prevention and recovery activities. Attend/report-out in Program and Business Partner meetings. Manage requests and functional participation for Supplier Readiness & Advanced Quality activities. Facilitates root cause corrective action within supply base.
Position Responsibilities:
- Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products
- Documents and reports audit and assessment results
- Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements
- Leads and conducts prevention and recovery activities within the supply base.
- Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work
- Provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives
- Resolves routine issues and concerns
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
- 3+ years of experience preparing and presenting succinctly to teams, senior leadership, and external customers
- 3+ years of experience in project management and/or cross-functional integration
- 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
- 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) and failure analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience conducting/leading Quality Management Systems (QMS) audits
Travel:
Position may require travel up to 50% of the time within region to support suppliers. Travel within Iowa and Minneapolis, MN primarily. There may be some travel outside of region to support other supplier as needed.

Minneapolis, MN: $107,100 - $144,900
Davenport, IA; Cedar Rapids, IA: $100,300 - $135,700
