Job Purpose
The Head of Operations, India is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Talent Systems' India entity, acting as the senior in country representative of the global organisation. The role is based at the company's primary India office in Ahmedabad, with regular travel to other India locations as required. The General Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across all India-based functions, ensuring the entity operates in full alignment with global priorities, standards, and values while meeting its local statutory, regulatory, and commercial obligations.
The General Manager (Head of Operations) chairs the India Management Team each of whom reports into their respective global functional leader. The GM is not their line manager, but provides incountry leadership, coordination, and accountability across the team as a whole.
The General Manager(Head of Operations) will execute the India business plan, drive performance against agreed operational and cost targets, and ensure the India team operates as a cohesive, high-performing unit. Working in close partnership with the Chief Global Officer, the General Manager will translate the company's global vision into local action, champion the India team's contribution to the wider business, and ensureTalent Systems' India operations are positioned to scale in line with the organisation's long-term strategic ambitions.
Note: Responsibility for revenue growth in the Indian market sits with the Commercial Director. The General Manager will partner closely with the Commercial Director but is not the owner of commercial targets. P&L accountability rests with the Chief Global Officer; the General Manager is accountable for cost management and operational performance across the India entity.
Requirements
Required- Proven experience in a senior general management or country leadership role, ideally within a technology, SaaS or digital media organisation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and align a multi functional team in a matrix environment, where direct authority over all team members is limited
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing a cost base and working within a budget framework
- Solid working knowledge of Indian labour law, statutory compliance, and the regulatory environment for corporate entities in India
- Experience managing physical office operations and vendor relationships in India
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within India to visit and support all office locations
- Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively across cultures, time zones, and reporting lines
- Experience working as part of a global organisation, with the ability to balance local needs against global requirements
- Strong organisational and problem solving skills; able to operate with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining clear accountability to global leadership
- Experience in the entertainment technology, media, or SaaS industry
- Familiarity with global HR practices and experience partnering with an HRBP function
- Experience supporting or leading digital transformation, AI adoption, or automation initiatives
- Track record of building inclusive, high-engagement workplace cultures across multiple sites
- BA/BS degree required; MA/MS or MBA preferred
Responsibilities
India Management Team Leadership- Chair and facilitate the India Management Team, comprising the Commercial Director, HRBP India, Accounting Manager India, and Director of Engineering India
- Hold regular India Management Team meetings to review entity-wide performance, surface and resolve cross-functional issues, and align on priorities
- Act as the primary point of in-country accountability and escalation for issues that span multiple functions or affect the India entity as a whole
- Partner with the Chief Global Officer to define the India entity's annual operational plan and quarterly priorities
- Work with the CGO and other members of the global Leadership Team to translate global strategic direction into clear India-level objectives, ensuring all functional teams in India are aligned and working toward shared outcomes
- Identify opportunities to expand Talent Systems' India footprint — including new capabilities, expanded headcount, and operational improvements — and bring recommendations to the CGO
- Own and manage the India entity's cost base, including headcount costs, facilities, vendor spend, and operational expenditure
- Work with the Accounting Manager and the CGO to develop the annual India budget and review actuals on a monthly basis
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, productivity, and quality across the India organisation
- Establish and monitor KPIs across all India functions to track operational health and identify improvement opportunities
- Report on India entity performance — including progress against quarterly Rocks — to the CGO and Executive Leadership Team on a monthly basis
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, working across functional teams to address operational challenges and implement corrective measures
- Ensure India operations meet the quality and efficiency standards expected by the global organisation
- Serve as the accountable owner for India specific statutory and regulatory compliance, including tax filings, company registrations, labour law adherence, and payroll obligations
- Maintain relationships with India based external legal counsel, chartered accountants, payroll providers, and relevant government bodies
- Ensure the India entity operates in full compliance with applicable Indian law at all times
- Work with the global VP of Trust & Safety to understand and manage the India entity's data protection and information security compliance obligations
- Own the India entity's business continuity and crisis response planning, ensuring the organisation is prepared to respond effectively to operational disruptions
- Take primary accountability for the day-to-day operations of the Ahmedabad office as the main India base, with oversight of all other India offices, supported by the Office Administrator
- Make regular visits to other India office locations to maintain in-person presence and ensure consistent standards across all sites
- Manage relationships with building management, facilities vendors, and landlords across all India locations; oversee office leases and contracts
- Manage the experience of all visitors to India offices, including executives from global HQ, international colleagues, and external guests
- Ensure new India employees are onboarded effectively, with access to the tools, systems, and resources they need from day one
- Act as the in country point of accountability for the India entity's technology and tooling needs, working with global IT and Engineering leadership to ensure India employees have effective access to required systems
- Ensure India employees adhere to Talent Systems' information security policies, including device management, data handling, and security training requirements
- Support the global organisation's ISO 27001 and SOC 2 compliance commitments as they apply to India operations
- Champion the adoption of AI, automation, and digital innovation within the India entity, identifying opportunites to improve operational efficiency and capability
- Partner with the Director of Engineering and global product and technology leadership to explore and pilot AI-enabled improvements relevant to the India team
- Contribute India-based insights and use cases to the global AI opportunity assessment
