About the role
At Humana, we're building human-centered experiences that help people navigate healthcare with confidence. We're looking for a Senior Content Designer to drive content design and strategy within product areas across our digital ecosystem.

You'll operate as an embedded partner within cross-functional teams, shaping experiences across web, mobile, apps and emerging digital surfaces. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and combines strong content craft with product thinking, uses research and data to guide decisions, and contributes to scalable content systems in a complex, regulated environment.

What you'll do

  • Drive content design for features and journeys using research, analytics, and content assessments (audits, inventories, touchpoint mapping)
  • Translate research, stakeholder, and journey insights into clear, actionable digital experiences
  • Plan and execute content across the product lifecycle, including creation, review, approval, and QA
  • Simplify complex, regulated healthcare information with clear, accessible content across UI, microcopy, and multi-channel experiences
  • Structure content for usability and findability, contributing to information architecture, navigation, and taxonomy
  • Partner cross-functionally with product management, product design, research, engineering, legal and compliance
  • Apply and contribute to guidelines, standards, and tools to ensure consistency and quality
  • Drive optimization using analytics, VOC data, and testing to improve performance

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years in content design, UX writing, or content strategy, with experience owning content from discovery through delivery and iteration
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex or regulated information
  • Experience conducting content audits, research, and developing data-informed content strategies
  • Solid understanding of information architecture, content structures (taxonomies, models), and findability, with familiarity in accessibility and brand/style standards
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration and a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end work and measurable impact

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with SEO and content optimization practices
  • Experience contributing to guidelines, templates, or governance processes

Scope and impact

  • Own content across features or product areas from discovery through optimization
  • Influence product decisions through content design, research insights, and human-centered design
  • Contribute to content systems, including information architecture, guidelines, and reusable patterns
  • Improve content quality, clarity, and consistency within teams
  • Support continuous improvement through measurement, testing, and iteration

Work at Home Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$86,300 - $118,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
