Job Purpose/USP

As a Service Architect you will act as the voice of the customer and GSS functions throughout product design and development. As an internal consultant across the whole business, you'll help design complex product solutions to deliver serviceability and supportability. Directly impacting Akamai revenues, you'll shape overall product and business strategy and influence at the highest levels.

As a Service Architect II, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating as the evangelist of the global services and support division, throughout the product life cycle
  • Creating and sharing a strategic vision for serviceable and supportable products
  • Defining the technical requirements for product supportability and assess the product against these requirements
  • Advocating best practice for the customer and internal teams during product design, development and implementation
  • Owning project launch readiness, ensuring all documentation, policies and processes are in place to deliver successfully to customer

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, another related field or its equivalent
  • Be well versed in how the internet works, it's networks and protocols e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL
  • Demonstrate a good balance of technical and strategic skills
  • Display excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate to technical and business audiences
