What this job involves

Supporting the daily operations and maintenance of Airbus facilities in Kinston, NC. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our building systems run smoothly, sustainability initiatives are tracked, and the workplace environment remains safe and functional. You'll coordinate with vendors, respond to maintenance needs, support corporate events, and help monitor facility management systems. Working closely with the Real Estate & Facilities team, you'll contribute to maintaining high operational standards across our campus while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Your day-to-day tasks will include

  • Scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance with contracted vendors on monthly and quarterly cycles to ensure all building systems remain in optimal working condition
  • Managing hard services including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and fire safety equipment while responding promptly to emergency and urgent maintenance service calls
  • Conducting daily facility walk-throughs and monthly safety inspections of the Kinston facility to identify and address potential issues proactively
  • Monitoring Corrigo work order management system for compliance with preventative maintenance schedules, providing improvement feedback, and reporting key data points to leadership
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives by collecting environmental data, tracking project activities, reviewing quarterly environmental roadmaps with site FM leads, and recording monthly data in reporting systems
  • Escorting and supervising suppliers during on-site work, ensuring safety protocols are followed and work is completed to specification
  • Assisting with furniture delivery, disposal, storage organization, corporate event setup and breakdown, and performing small maintenance tasks such as hanging artwork or furniture modifications
  • Collaborating on administrative projects and other duties as assigned by the Director of Real Estate & Facilities, Health & Safety, and site leadership

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience in corporate facilities, third-party service provider, or consulting environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen effectively and interact professionally with all levels of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in common business applications including Google G-Suite and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Corrigo
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities with demonstrated capability to prioritize multiple tasks based on business needs
  • Physical ability to work in both industrial and office environments with regular walking and occasional lifting of objects up to 35 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in facilities management or related field
  • 2+ years of industry experience in corporate facilities, third-party service provider, or consulting roles with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry with understanding of industry-specific compliance and operational requirements
  • Proven client relationship management skills with track record of building strong internal and external stakeholder partnerships
  • Comfort level working with complex audio-visual equipment and modern workplace technologies
  • Demonstrated decision-making abilities in real-time facility use determination based on existing conditions and business priorities
