Job Description Summary

The Lead Industrialisation Engineer will act as the technical lead for the industrialisation of HVDC and FACTS valves (VSC/LCC). You will coordinate between R&D and Manufacturing to manage New Product Introductions (NPI), Continuous Improvement (CI) projects, and the global transfer of manufacturing capabilities. You will be responsible for ensuring all projects meet strict standards for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Compliance.

Job Description

Are you an experienced technical leader looking to shape the future of high-voltage manufacturing? We are seeking a Lead Industrialisation Engineer to join our team at a pivotal time of growth. In this role, you will act as the technical lead for the industrialisation of HVDC and FACTS Valve (VSC and LCC) projects, bridging the gap between R&D and full-scale production.

You will be at the forefront of our industrialisation strategy, managing both New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing footprint expansions—including active international transfers of production capability. From defining manufacturing build strategies and leading DFx reviews to overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of production line equipment, you will ensure our projects meet rigorous standards for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Compliance. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you will drive continuous improvement, mentor team members, and implement critical business systems to support our global manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • NPI & Transfer Leadership: Drive the industrialisation strategy for new products and manufacturing footprint expansions, including the physical transfer of production capabilities to international sites.
  • Project Management: Lead teams and suppliers to meet project milestones, including time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Manufacturing Equipment: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of production line equipment—from strategy and procurement to specification, installation, and commissioning.
  • Technical Excellence: Lead Design (DFx) reviews, define manufacturing build strategies, and ensure robust documentation (Risk Assessments, Work Instructions, and Training).
  • Process Improvement: Drive Continuous Improvement using Lean methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Systems Integration: Define and implement manufacturing business systems (QMS, SAP, Hermes, Maximo).
  • Mentorship: Support and mentor team members, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and technical development.

Travel Requirement

The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel internationally to support the transfer of product manufacturing and the commissioning of production equipment.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Proven experience leading technical projects in a manufacturing environment, specifically with assembly and test processes for electronic/mechanical products.
  • Project Skills: Strong project management, facilitation, and team-leading abilities.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Technical Systems: Experience with Lean Manufacturing and SAP is highly preferred (though training will be provided for the right candidate).
  • Compliance: Deep understanding of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols and safe working practices.
