As a senior technical leader within CDH, you will provide strategic oversight and technical direction on complex site investigation, remediation, environmental construction, and contaminated land management projects for clients globally. You will collaborate closely with ERM's regional technical teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality solutions while supporting business growth and innovation across the SIR practice. Why this role matters? ERM is seeking an experienced Technical Director – Site Investigation & Remediation (SIR) to join our Consulting Delivery Hub (CDH) . This leadership role combines technical excellence, project delivery, people leadership, and client support to help grow ERM’s global Site Investigation & Remediation (SIR) business. Key responsibilities: Technical Leadership & Project Delivery Provide senior technical leadership on site investigation, remediation, environmental construction, and contaminated land management projects. Design, review, and oversee implementation of remedial solutions for contaminated soil, groundwater, sediment, and other affected media using both innovative and conventional treatment technologies. Lead technical reviews and quality assurance of deliverables across a broad range of remediation services, including: Site Investigation & Remediation Brownfields Redevelopment Human Health & Ecological Risk Assessments Sediment Management & Remediation Remediation Portfolio & Reserve Assessments Decommissioning, Decontamination & Demolition (DDD) Remedial Alternatives Analysis & Pilot Testing Environmental Construction Management Ensure projects are delivered within budget, schedule, quality, and client expectations. Support complex regulatory evaluations and development of remediation strategies under various local, national, and international regulatory frameworks. Global Delivery & Collaboration Work closely with ERM teams across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and other global regions to support integrated project delivery. Collaborate with technical communities and service line leaders to promote consistency, innovation, and technical excellence. Leverage global expertise and best practices to solve complex client challenges. Support cross-functional project teams to deliver seamless client solutions. Business Growth & Client Support Support business development initiatives through proposal preparation, technical inputs, solution development, and client presentations. Build and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders, project managers, account teams, and technical experts. Contribute technical thought leadership that helps differentiate ERM in the marketplace. Support strategic pursuits and capture efforts through technical reviews, scope development, pricing support, and proposal preparation. Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and enhance value delivery to clients. People Leadership & Capability Building Mentor and coach consultants, project managers, and technical specialists across the CDH. Delegate technical assignments effectively and support professional development of team members. Help build and sustain a high-performance culture focused on quality, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, training, and capability development initiatives. Champion ERM’s health, safety, and sustainability culture. What you’ll bring: Required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, or related discipline. 15–20+ years of experience in environmental consulting, site investigation, remediation, or contaminated land management. Demonstrated experience managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary teams. Strong understanding of remediation technologies, environmental risk assessment, and contaminated site management practices. Proven ability to develop technical solutions for industrial, manufacturing, energy, technology, infrastructure, and oil & gas clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong project management, stakeholder management, and strategic problem-solving capabilities. Demonstrated ability to mentor technical professionals and lead delivery teams. Strong experience of working at leadership levels in a GCC kind of set up, liaising with stakeholders Globally Preferred Experience with international environmental regulatory frameworks and standards either working directly or in consulting capacity. Recognized technical expertise in remediation, contaminated land management, risk assessment, or environmental engineering disciplines.
