Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions.Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies.To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic echocardiograms according to physician orders and department protocols to evaluate cardiovascular conditions.
- Prepare and educate patients, obtain relevant clinical history, and provide compassionate care while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
- Acquire high-quality cardiac ultrasound images, maintain accurate documentation, and compile clinical data for physician interpretation.
- Monitor patient condition during exams, communicate significant findings to physicians and nursing staff, and respond appropriately to emergency situations within scope of practice.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibration, and quality assurance to ensure optimal imaging performance and compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Support departmental operations through scheduling, record management, supply inventory, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team while providing culturally competent patient care.
Job Requirements
Required
- Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound/echo sonography program that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities. , upon hire and
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo, upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire or
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- One year of post-graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound
