Accountabilities:

    The Operations Engineer will support engineering and innovation initiatives by developing solutions that improve operational performance, enhance systems reliability, and enable business growth. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders to deliver sustainable improvements and technical solutions.

    • Design mechanical, operational, and technical solutions that address business needs while defining requirements, success criteria, and ongoing maintenance procedures.
    • Collaborate with external vendors, engineering partners, and internal teams to develop and implement effective operational solutions.
    • Support deployment activities, including installation, post-launch support, change management, and long-term system sustainability.
    • Apply engineering methodologies, Lean principles, and continuous improvement practices to optimize processes and workflows.
    • Partner with facilities and maintenance teams to evaluate engineering solutions and maintain high-quality operational systems.
    • Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
    • Conduct time studies, document process flows, analyze operational data, and present recommendations to innovation and operations teams.
    • Support strategic initiatives that improve production capabilities, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering background combined with problem-solving abilities, project experience, and knowledge of operational improvement methodologies. This role requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline.
      • Experience applying engineering concepts to operational, mechanical, or technical challenges.
      • Knowledge of business processes and the ability to translate operational needs into technical requirements.
      • Experience with DMAIC, DMADV, Lean methodologies, or similar continuous improvement frameworks.
      • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent training preferred.
      • Strong understanding of business systems, technology solutions, and operational support processes.
      • Ability to interpret construction standards, engineering drawings, permit documentation, and installation processes.
      • Experience managing contracts, NDAs, MSAs, or vendor relationships.
      • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
      • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools is preferred.
      • Project management experience or training is a plus.
      • Ability to travel up to 50% within the United States and Canada with a valid driver’s license.
