Position - Transport Lead / SME

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Transportation Lead / Subject Matter Expert to oversee and manage multi-city transportation operations, driving strategic planning, operational excellence, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Execution

• Develop and execute transportation strategies aligned with organizational objectives
• Optimize route planning and manage vehicle fleet operations
• Ensure timely deliveries and operational efficiency across multiple cities

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and supervise transportation teams including drivers, dispatchers, and logistics staff
• Set performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews
• Provide training and development opportunities to foster teamwork and skill enhancement

Financial Management

• Create and manage transportation budgets
• Monitor and control expenses including fuel costs, maintenance expenditures, and operational overhead
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure full compliance with local and national transportation regulations
• Implement and monitor safety protocols across all operations
• Establish preventive maintenance procedures for fleet management

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with clients to understand transportation requirements
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
• Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders

Operational Optimization

• Analyze transportation data to identify improvement opportunities
• Optimize delivery routes to reduce transit times and operational costs
• Implement digitalization processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience

Vendor & Contract Management

• Manage relationships with transportation vendors and suppliers
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure quality standards

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field

Experience

• Proven track record managing multi-city transportation operations
• Extensive experience in logistics, fleet management, and route optimization
• Demonstrated success in team leadership and operational management

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in transportation management systems and logistics software
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience with digitalization initiatives and process improvement methodologies
