Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.Performs venipunctures and capillary punctures according to departmental standardsAssists in the delivery of direct patient care under the oversight of a Registered Nurse and/or licensed medical practitioner and receives written and/or oral assignments and directionObtains labs or procedure results, if not in chart, vital signs, chief complaint, reason for visit, allergies, current phone number and family listDocuments patient care activities and patient data accurately using appropriate documentation forms and/or information systemsEnsures exam rooms are clean which includes cleaning surgical equipment, preparing for delivery to central supply and disinfecting all patient contact equipmentPerforms required skills such as, but not limited to, vital sign measurement, aseptic technique, non-invasive specimen collection, spirometry, hearing testing, vision testing and EKGs, etc
Job Requirements
RequiredOne year experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient medical office, or physician clinic setting or Medical Assistant Training Certificate from an accredited program and recent Medical Assistant experiencePhlebotomist: CABasic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association providerPreferredAssociates in related fieldRecent phlebotomyTwo years experience in a clinical setting
