Accountabilities:
- Provide subject matter expertise on immunization systems, healthcare applications, and electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) solutions.
- Evaluate immunization forecasting functionality and perform specialized testing of immunization calculation engines in controlled environments.
- Lead and document technical sessions, demonstrations, and office hours to explain system behaviors, workflows, and clinical impacts.
- Support health system modernization initiatives by analyzing operational requirements and recommending technology improvements.
- Collaborate with clinicians, developers, healthcare professionals, and government stakeholders to define application changes and requirements.
- Provide strategic guidance on healthcare IT capabilities, industry trends, and technology best practices.
- Assess organizational technology needs and identify opportunities to improve healthcare application performance and effectiveness.
- Develop functional strategies and recommendations for enhanced IT solutions across healthcare environments.
- Participate in program strategy discussions, technical assessments, design reviews, and solution implementation activities.
- Support public health preparedness initiatives by contributing expertise to disease identification, surveillance, reporting, and healthcare system improvements.
- Advise teams on complex clinical technology challenges and support resolution of high-priority issues.
- Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
- Advanced degree preferred, including doctoral-level education in computer science, information systems, engineering, medical sciences, healthcare-related disciplines, business, or a related field.
- 20+ years of related professional experience in healthcare technology, clinical systems, or healthcare operations.
- Extensive experience with immunization forecasting functionality, particularly Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE) Forecaster solutions.
- Strong understanding of electronic health record systems, healthcare IT environments, and clinical application workflows.
- Experience with Meaningful Use requirements and healthcare technology modernization initiatives.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex clinical and immunization concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals, developers, executives, and cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to work effectively in remote, distributed teams while managing changing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with healthcare information systems such as Indian Health Service RPMS and/or Veterans Administration VistA EHR environments preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory environments, public health systems, and immunization program operations preferred.
- Preferred background includes 25+ years of hands-on pharmacy experience and PharmD qualification.
- Ability to meet background screening requirements and applicable residency requirements for public trust clearance.
- Competitive hourly compensation range of approximately $81.73–$110.57, depending on experience, location, and contractual requirements.
