Communications Manager, Amazon Leo
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite internet network. Its mission is to provide fast, reliable internet to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. The system is built around a constellation of thousands of satellites in orbit around the planet, and will serve a wide range of customers globally, from individual households and small businesses to large enterprise and government customers.
In this role, you will lead comms programs that advance global policy, advocacy, and reputational priorities for Amazon Leo. You will be responsible for developing messaging, building and sustaining strong media relationships, executing successful campaigns and events, and working with international teams to localize content and campaigns for different regions around the world.
You will work closely with business, engineering, legal, public policy, and regulatory teams to shape this program. As a key advisor to the business, you must demonstrate excellent judgment, earn trust with various internal stakeholders, and be willing to dive deep into complex topics. You must also be able to clearly articulate ideas in both written and verbal communications, anticipate potential issues and headwinds for the business, find ways to simplify and streamline work, and effectively advocate for decisions that protect the long-term interests of Amazon and its customers.
Along the way, you will have a chance to shape the long-term vision for one of Amazon's most exciting new ventures, and have a direct impact for tens of millions of customers around the world.
Key job responsibilities
- Define communications programs to advance global policy and advocacy objectives
- Drive communications for Kuiper Government Solutions (KGS), a division within Kuiper focused on serving public sector customers
- Partner with policy and regulatory teams to drive third-party engagement and advocacy
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant defense, industry, policy and tech reporters
- Support storytelling and campaigns around key business, policy, and program milestones
- Anticipate and manage potential reputational issues
- Lead coordination with international policy, regulatory, and PR teams to drive regional engagement and advocacy campaigns
Basic qualifications
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience- Bachelor's degree
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in professional communications or public relations- Experience in satellite communications and/or broader telecommunications sector

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
