Vice President, Business Development
Menlo Park, CA$451k–$490kPosted Jul 16, 2026
**Summary:**
Meta is looking for a senior business leader to source, build, and close our most complex and strategic partnerships across the technology ecosystem, define the deal and business strategy behind them, and work hand in hand with product to shape and grow product priorities through deep engagement with that ecosystem. The right candidate brings demonstrated business judgment, a deep sense of ownership, and the ability to build a partnership from first conversation to signed deal, working credibly with senior stakeholders inside Meta and across partner C-suites. They pair deal-closing rigor with the analytical capability to build fluency fast in a technical, fast-moving market.
**Required Skills:**
Vice President, Business Development Responsibilities:
1. Source, build, and close some of Meta's most complex and strategic deals across the technology ecosystem including supporting equity investments, joint ventures, and capacity agreements
2. Own partnerships end to end, from sourcing and first conversation through structuring, negotiation, and signed deal
3. Run rigorous deal process: diligence, economic modeling, and term negotiation
4. Marshal the company behind the hardest deals, driving engineering, product, finance, legal and other stakeholders to decisions when they do not naturally align
5. Define and drive the strategy behind Meta's most important deals, and shape the broader business strategy they serve: where to partner, build, buy, or invest
6. Develop the frameworks to evaluate build-vs-buy-vs-partner and other high-stakes commercial decisions across Meta's technology portfolio
7. Apply commercial judgment to ambiguous, high-consequence decisions where the right answer is not yet defined
8. Work closely with product leadership to help drive, grow, and shape product priorities, using deep understanding of the external ecosystem to inform where Meta should focus
9. Build and maintain deep fluency in the technology landscape (AI models, compute economics, silicon and cloud supply, and the ecosystem of labs, founders, and providers), and turn that intelligence into both deal leverage and product direction
10. Serve as a two-way bridge between the external ecosystem and internal product strategy: bringing the market in, and carrying Meta's priorities out
11. Build, lead, and develop a team of senior deal and partnership professionals
12. Work with and bring along senior stakeholders across product, infrastructure, partnerships, and finance leadership, up to CEO level
13. Represent Meta externally with partner C-suites, boards, and senior stakeholders on partnerships of strategic and reputational significance
**Minimum Qualifications:**
Minimum Qualifications:
14. Track record sourcing, structuring, and closing complex, multi-billion-dollar transactions, including equity investments, joint ventures, SPVs, and technology licensing
15. Strong business sense and demonstrated ownership: a leader who drives outcomes, not process
16. Demonstrated ability to drive alignment across many senior stakeholders to get complex, multi-party deals done
17. Experience working closely with product teams to shape strategy and priorities
18. Fluency in deal economics: financial modeling, valuation, term structuring, counterparty analysis
19. Demonstrated ability to build deep, credible expertise quickly in new, technical, fast-moving markets
20. Experience building and leading teams
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Preferred Qualifications:
21. Experience commercializing proprietary technology (for example, custom silicon or infrastructure) into external businesses through licensing, SPVs, or joint ventures
22. Operating or P&L experience, for example at a high-growth technology company, not only advisory or transaction roles
23. Direct experience in technology infrastructure transactions
24. Fluency in the AI landscape (models, compute, silicon, cloud), or a demonstrated pattern of rapidly mastering technical markets
**Public Compensation:**
$451,000/year to $490,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
