Amazon's Global Corporate Employee Relations (GCER) team seeks a labor relations professional with deep Germany expertise to own and deliver LR strategy in one of EMEA's most complex co-determination environments.
About the Role
As EMEA Labor Relations (LR) Manager, you'll serve as the dedicated LR partner for Germany — Amazon's most regulated corporate market in EMEA, with full co-determination rights, active Works Councils (Betriebsräte), and a dense works agreement landscape. You'll own the day-to-day LR strategy, ERB relationships, and stakeholder advisory for Germany across multiple Amazon lines of business.
This means navigating the Works Constitution Act (BetrVG), negotiating works agreements, managing consent and co-determination items, and building trust-based relationships with employee representatives — all while enabling business velocity in a high-growth environment.
Reporting to the DACH LR leader, you'll operate with significant autonomy while contributing to broader regional programmes, frameworks, and capability development.

- Negotiate and maintain works agreements across topics including IT tools, working time, remote work, and restructuring
- Navigate reconciliation committee processes where required
- Advise on union engagement strategy and collective bargaining landscape

- Serve as the trusted LR advisor to senior business leaders and PXT partners for Germany
- Provide proactive counsel on workforce changes, restructurings, tool deployments, and policy implementations
- Director/VP-level stakeholders on LR risk posture and engagement strategy

- Drive data-driven insights to inform LR strategy and investment decisions
- Share co-determination expertise across the EMEA LR team
Change & Risk Management:
- Lead complex change programmes in Germany (restructurings, tool deployments, organisational changes)
- Own proactive risk identification, scenario planning, and mitigation

- Fluent in written and spoken German (CEFR, C2) and English (CEFR, C2)
- Experience with Einigungsstelle (reconciliation committee) proceedings
- Knowledge of collective bargaining (Tarifvertragsrecht) and union landscape in Germany
- Experience in tech-sector or corporate (non-operations) labor relations
- Strong bias for action with proven ability to simplify complexity
- Experience with data-driven decision making and LR analytics
