Purpose and Mission
Drive Bekaert's Industry 4.0 and IoT strategy by defining and delivering scalable, secure, and innovative digital solutions that accelerate business transformation across global operations. The role is responsible for shaping the IoT ecosystem and technology roadmap, aligning business requirements with target architectures, and enabling the successful implementation of connected manufacturing, data-driven operations, and smart industrial solutions
Key Activities and Responsibilities
Platform Manager IoT
- Lead the strategy and development of a robust and innovative Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem (for internal and external use). Ensure the company's Internet of Things (IoT) partners' ecosystem and product portfolio and roadmaps remain competitive.
- Ensuring information about the company's IoT portfolio is clearly understood in the most professional and accessible way.
- Assist Business and IT Product Groups in achieving ambitious global digital roadmap with a competitive IoT services portfolio.
- Oversee and manage the Product & Operations Team to develop and launch approved products and services.
- Working directly with the engineering, technology, R&I teams to align with best practices of the platform used and to draw up implementation details.
- Working with the IT Product Groups to develop strategic product roadmap for IoT, providing regular updates and strategic analysis of the progress in achieving the road-map goals and contribute to innovation
- Having an in depth understanding of the IoT industry including key players and partnering with procurement team to negotiate commercial agreements with partners in the industry
- Managing relationships with IoT ecosystem stakeholders and to ensure roadmap requirements are adopted and delivered
- Leading user experience requirements initiatives, research and testing processes
- Seeking and promoting synergy and cost efficiency opportunities
- Working directly with the engineering, technology teams to align with best practices of the platform used and to draw up implementation details
- Supporting IT Product Groups with product and services demonstrations, presentations and tender responses
Industry 4.0 Solution Architect
- Contributing together with the Business & Technology teams for defining and implementing the IT architecture for I4.0 domain.
- Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and implement solutions for improvement.
- Be subject matter expert in I4.0.
- Work closely with product managers, product owners, business analysts, etc. Understand business requirement, design I4.0 relevant solutions, translate to development and implementation team, handover to business analyst or product owner/manager for further deployment.
- Integration design between I4.0 solutions and third-party systems like IoT platform, data platform for transaction and process flow using various Industry standard Interface practices.
- Works with Bekaert Architect community (e.g., enterprise, business, information, solutions, and security architects) to analyze enterprise business context (business strategy and trends) and derive the future state technology architecture.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, and Industrial Digitalization
- Expertise in Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms, sensors, edge computing, and connected devices
- Experience with OT (Operational Technology) and IT convergence
- Knowledge of MES, SCADA, PLC, Historian, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and industrial protocols
- Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and IoT services
- Experience with data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, and digital twins
- Knowledge of system integration architectures, APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles for IoT and OT environments
- Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks and Solution Architecture practices
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and design effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in Industrial IoT, Industry 4.0, Digital Manufacturing, or Enterprise Architecture
- Certifications in Cloud Architecture, Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF), IoT, Agile, or Project Management are advantageous
- Experience in global manufacturing environments and multi-site deployments
