Margin & Collateral Analyst
Lead complex collateral operations at scale within the Commercial Investment Bank, partnering globally to strengthen controls, deliver regulatory outcomes, and drive continuous improvement across the derivatives lifecycle.
As a Margin & Collateral Analyst in Collateral Operations, you will lead margin call management and dispute resolution while ensuring adherence to evolving regulatory requirements across jurisdictions. You will drive cross-LOB metrics, run strategic projects and automation initiatives, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across Back Office, Middle Office, and global teams. You will partner closely with Operations and Technology stakeholders to deliver resilient processes, strong controls, and reliable business support.
Job Responsibilities :
- Manage collateral disputes end-to-end, coordinating timely investigation, resolution, and stakeholder communication.
- Execute daily margin exchange activities, ensuring same-day settlement, exception handling, and issue escalation where required.
- Perform supervisory controls over collateral exposure, monitoring breaches, trends, and control effectiveness.
- Supervise MTM breaks analysis, including data quality reviews and delivery of strategic remediation initiatives.
- Partner with Middle Office, Credit Risk, VCG, and other stakeholders to reduce breaks through upstream root-cause fixes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across applicable regimes (e.g., CFTC, EMIR, NCMR), including evidence, governance, and audit readiness.
- Improve process controls and operating procedures to sustain accuracy, timeliness, and compliance outcomes.
- Manage new analysis and reporting requirements across stakeholders, providing clear BAU, risk, and project updates to senior management.
- Supervise UAT planning and execution, validating business outcomes and supporting change delivery into production.
- Drive strategic automation initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce operational risk, and improve scalability.
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities :
- CA/MBA with 2+ years of operations experience or Graduate/Post-Graduate with 4+ years of operations experience.
- Strong knowledge of investment banking operations, including OTC products, related processes, and supporting systems.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day execution, controls, and delivery of initiatives with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across Operations and Technology and influence outcomes under tight deadlines.
Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities :
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting collateral operations (e.g., CFTC, EMIR, NCMR).
- Hands-on experience with collateral management and reconciliation platforms.
- Exposure to OTC confirmations processes and downstream operational dependencies.
- Experience leading UAT cycles and change delivery for process or technology enhancements.
