Citizens JMP is seeking an Associate to join the Real Estate, Gaming, Lodging and Leisure Investment Banking team within Citizens’ Capital Markets & Advisory group. This role will support senior bankers covering REITs and other real estate‑centric companies and will play a key role in pitching and executing mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, and debt capital markets transactions for clients.
Role Overview
The Associate will partner closely with Managing Directors, Directors, and Vice Presidents to support a growing pipeline of sell‑side and buy‑side M&A advisory assignments, as well as equity and debt capital markets transactions for REITs and real estate‑related clients. This role offers exposure to public and private management teams, senior‑level leadership within Citizens Bank, and long‑term career development opportunities within the Real Estate, Gaming, Lodging & Leisure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support execution of M&A advisory engagements, equity capital raises, and debt financing transactions for REITs and real estate‑focused companies
- Build and maintain financial models, including valuation analyses, merger and accretion/dilution models, and REIT‑specific capital structure frameworks
- Prepare pitch books, marketing materials, management presentations, and investment committee memoranda
- Assist with transaction due diligence, financial and data analysis, and preparation of offering materials and deal documentation
- Partner with senior bankers on client coverage initiatives, strategic analyses, and investor positioning
- Coordinate with internal product partners and platform stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate deal execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- 2–4+ years of investment banking, capital markets, or relevant financial experience
- Exposure to M&A and/or equity and debt capital markets; REIT or real estate experience preferred
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and valuation skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast‑paced, transaction‑oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Licenses
- Series 79 and Series 63 (or ability to obtain)
Work Schedule
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $175,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
