Role Summary
As a Senior Consultant or Managing Consultant, you will play a leading role in the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), and environmental permitting projects. Depending on experience level, you will manage projects, lead technical workstreams, review deliverables, support business development, and mentor junior consultants.
This role requires a strong technical background in environmental assessment, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, regulators, lenders, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Lead and deliver EIA, ESIA, environmental permitting, environmental management planning, and due diligence projects in accordance with Vietnamese regulations and international standards.
- Serve as Project Manager, Task Manager, Technical Lead, or Reviewer for environmental assessment projects.
- Plan and coordinate field surveys, baseline studies, specialist investigations, stakeholder engagement activities, and regulatory submissions.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, quality assurance, and health and safety requirements.
- Prepare and review high-quality technical reports, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with client, regulatory, and lender expectations.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including air quality, noise, biodiversity, water resources, social performance, climate change, and GIS specialists.
Client & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through the delivery of high-quality consulting services.
- Support proposal preparation, technical approach development, budgeting, and commercial negotiations.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business and cross-selling of ERM services.
- Participate in client presentations, workshops, and business development activities.
Leadership & People Development
- Mentor and develop junior consultants and project team members.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, technical innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives within ERM.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, inclusion, and professional excellence.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with government agencies, technical authorities, lenders, project developers, and other stakeholders.
- Support clients in navigating regulatory approval processes and lender review requirements.
- Facilitate coordination between technical specialists and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Senior Consultant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a related discipline.
- Typically 4–8 years of relevant experience in EIA, ESIA, environmental permitting, or environmental consulting.
- Strong understanding of Vietnam's environmental impact assessment framework.
- Experience preparing and managing environmental studies and technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage small to medium-sized projects and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
Managing Consultant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a related discipline.
- Typically 8+ years of relevant consulting experience in EIA, ESIA, environmental permitting, or environmental risk assessment.
- Proven track record managing complex, multidisciplinary projects across multiple sectors.
- Strong understanding of international standards, including IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and lender requirements.
- Experience leading client engagements, managing project teams, and contributing to business development.
- Exceptional project management, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desired Technical Expertise
