Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable data platforms that support analytics, data science, and business intelligence initiatives.
- Develop and optimize end-to-end data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, aggregation, and quality monitoring processes.
- Create and maintain data models and transformation workflows that provide clear, accessible, and reliable data abstractions.
- Manage the complete software development lifecycle for data solutions, including deployment, documentation, monitoring, security, performance optimization, and reliability practices.
- Investigate data inconsistencies, troubleshoot issues, and identify root causes to ensure data accuracy and trustworthiness.
- Enable teams across the organization through self-service data solutions, well-structured datasets, and improved access to information.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges and propose scalable, incremental, and sustainable technical solutions.
- Conduct proof-of-concepts and technology evaluations to identify the best tools and architectures for specific business needs.
- Contribute to technical strategy, architectural decisions, and engineering standards across teams.
- Promote data engineering best practices and serve as a technical mentor and reference for other professionals.
- Extensive experience with Big Data technologies and concepts, including Spark, Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, or similar platforms.
- Strong programming skills in Python or another major programming language, with a focus on clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as Airflow, Spark, AWS, and Databricks.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles applied to data-intensive systems.
- Experience with columnar storage solutions, data lakehouse architectures, and modern data platform design.
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience designing multidimensional data models, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema approaches.
- Understanding of data governance concepts such as lineage, privacy, retention, anonymization, and lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containers, orchestration tools (Kubernetes, ECS), CI/CD practices, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to work with technical documentation, tools, and engineering materials in English.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience acting as a technical lead, project lead, or similar role.
- Curiosity, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Experience building large-scale data platforms supporting high-volume datasets and multiple teams.
- Familiarity with advanced Big Data ecosystems, including technologies such as Trino, Atlas, Ranger, or similar.
