Manufacturing Engineer – Powertrain (Digital Process Planning)

ApplyWe are looking for a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to support digital process planning and manufacturing execution for powertrain components (engines, transmissions, electric drive units, battery systems).
This role focuses on transforming engineering data into manufacturing-ready processes using digital manufacturing tools, while also supporting shop-floor implementation, line balancing, and plant launches.
1. Digital Process Planning
- Create and manage Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) from Engineering BOM (EBOM)
- Develop Bill of Process (BOP) and structure manufacturing sequences
- Build process trees, define operations, and assign workstations
- Generate and maintain electronic work instructions for shop-floor use
- Map tools, fixtures, and resources to manufacturing operations
2. Manufacturing Optimisation
- Perform line balancing and cycle time analysis to improve throughput
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify value-added vs non-value-added activities
- Optimise plant layout and workflow using digital tools
- Support plant-specific configuration of manufacturing processes
3. Change Management & Collaboration
- Update MBOM, process flows, and documentation based on engineering changes
- Work closely with Product Development, IT teams, and plant operations
- Support system testing (UAT) and digital tool enhancements
- Maintain manufacturing data in enterprise systems
4. Tooling & Launch Support
- Define technical requirements for tooling, fixtures, and equipment
- Support supplier interactions, technical reviews, and equipment buy-off
- Use virtual manufacturing tools for layout validation and ergonomics
- Support shop-floor installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up
- Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic standards
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial / Automotive Engineering
- 1–4 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
- Basic understanding of automotive manufacturing processes (assembly/powertrain)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models (GD&T knowledge preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and cross-functional collaboration ability
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Teamcenter / EasyPlan or similar digital manufacturing tools
- Exposure to EBOM–MBOM transformation and BOP creation
- Familiarity with time studies and line balancing
- Knowledge of PFMEA and control plans
- Exposure to electrified powertrain manufacturing
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt)
Experience in plant launch or equipment commissioning
