Directs the global quality initiatives and programs for the business unit. Responsibilities may include developing and implementing quality strategies and programs, prioritizing regional quality programs and performance, and working with executive management.
International travel will be required on a frequent basis.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Supervises staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Directs the activities of the department to include overseeing the development and administration of policies, procedures, programs, goals and objectives, and presents them to Executives or the Board as necessary. Develops overall quality strategy for the business unit and reports on implementation, execution, and necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
- Directs the development, implementation, and administration of quality programs for a global business group, which includes determining scope and objectives, ensuring administrative compliance, and interpreting broad guidelines and policies. Using influence strategies to align business unit priorities with regional quality and/or global supply chain programs and deliverables.
- Applies advanced LSS principles and practices while directing the flow information, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, preparing findings, and developing recommendations and conclusions.
- Reviews and develops a variety of projects, serves on management teams, develops reports and recommendations, and presents them to management as required. Acts as a key stakeholder in the global stage gate development process to ensure quality design is integral in the product development process.
- Serves as a liaison to Executives regarding quality and related manufacturing questions, direction, and strategies. Participates on the Executive Team in determining or develop the strategy of the business unit.
- Identifies risks to the business from quality issues and insures timely, resourced, and actionable plans to mitigate those risks. Ensures that customer complaints or claims are properly investigated and resolved in a timely manner. Ensures that a manufacturing and scale up strategy is implemented which minimizes risks to the business caused by failed scale up of new products, defective production, or loss of high value raw materials.
- Assists Executives in developing and implementing an overall manufacturing strategy.
- Directs the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree
- Must have ten (10) years of progressive quality experience within the manufacturing industry
- Must have five (5) years of management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material science
- Have experience in Packaging or Metal coatings
