Job Overview and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the sales & marketing strategy for the country. In addition to sales and marketing, the director plays a key role in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, and industry & government affairs as this role serves as United’s senior leader for the country. Responsible for working with alliance partners and developing new revenue opportunities. Also, key contact for leadership of corporate and agency partners; and constantly monitors and provides feedback to regional MD and MD of Latin America on competitors, intermediaries, effectiveness of UA marketing campaigns, product offerings, agency commissions, and corporate programs. The position is also the legal representative of the company in the country for all matters.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and measurement of the sales strategies for the country; and continuously assessing competition & marketplace risks and revising tactics as appropriate
- Also acts as legal representative in the country.
- Maintain healthy, visible, and productive relationships with key distributors, corporate and civic customers within the division, and effectively coordinate with JV and Star Alliance partners.
- Liaison between the division and key headquarter departments like Scheduling, Legal, HR, Finance, among others.
- Employee development/mentoring to further develop leadership and increase skills to make United a stronger competitor.
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Five+ years sales management experience
- Analytical skills, communication, financial acumen
- Must be legally authorized to work in Colombia for any employer without sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
