The opportunity
Shipping is one of the biggest friction points for people buying and selling online. In Australia, eBay is tackling that challenge at a time of real momentum for the local shipping team.
We are scaling new shipping experiences that give sellers more choice, better value and simpler ways to manage delivery, while helping buyers access more reliable and convenient delivery options.
As Senior Manager, Shipping Programs, you will help turn shipping strategy into better buyer and seller experiences. This role works closely with Product, Operations, Customer Support, Marketing, Finance and global shipping teams to define requirements, launch new services and improve the end to end shipping journey.
What you will do
- Own the activation roadmap for new and improved shipping experiences in Australia.
- Turn strategic priorities into clear product requirements, launch plans, owners, milestones and decisions.
- Develop business requirements documents, user journey maps and market requirements for shipping services.
- Work closely with Product teams to improve seller tools, buyer delivery experiences, pricing display, delivery choice, support journeys and operational processes.
- Shape the seller and buyer proposition, launch plan, adoption approach and support readiness for new shipping services.
- Partner with Operations, Customer Support, Marketing and Finance to manage launch readiness, risks, communications and post launch improvement.
- Use data, customer feedback and support insights to identify friction, adoption barriers and opportunities to improve the experience.
- Represent Australia in global shipping program discussions.
What you will bring
- Experience in program management, product operations, ecommerce, marketplaces, delivery, logistics, go to market or commercial launch roles.
- Experience working with Product teams to define requirements, write BRDs, shape user journeys and deliver customer facing experiences.
- Strong judgement across customer experience, product trade offs, adoption, pricing and operational impact.
- Ability to create structure, pace and accountability across multiple teams and workstreams.
- Confidence working with senior leaders, product teams, operational teams and external partners.
- Clear communication and the ability to turn data, feedback and operational signals into practical recommendations.
- Experience with shipping, delivery platforms, marketplace seller tools, ecommerce logistics, buyer delivery experiences or customer support readiness would be valuable.
What success looks like
In the first few months, you will build a clear view of current shipping experiences, buyer and seller journey pain points, launch readiness needs and priority roadmap gaps.
Over the first year, you will help launch and improve shipping services with clear requirements, user journeys, go to market plans, support readiness and performance measures.
Longer term, your work will help create a simpler, more reliable and more scalable shipping experience for Australian buyers and sellers.
Benefits
eBay offers hybrid working, competitive compensation, development opportunities and access to teams across Australia and globally. This role also offers the chance to shape an important part of the customer experience inside one of the world’s leading marketplaces.
Who will thrive here
This role suits someone who enjoys turning customer problems into practical product requirements, working through ambiguity and helping teams move quickly without losing the detail.
A strong fit will be clear in communication, structured in execution and comfortable working across product, operations, commercial and customer teams.
They will care about buyer and seller experience, use data to make better decisions and enjoy solving complex problems with smart people.
Why this role matters
Australia is an important growth market for eBay, and shipping sits at the heart of that growth.
This is an exciting time to join the AU Shipping team as we scale new services, improve buyer and seller experiences and create a simpler, lower friction shipping journey.
