Accountabilities:

    The Applications Engineer will provide technical expertise and customer-focused support for power distribution products, helping drive product performance, customer satisfaction, and business growth. The role requires strong collaboration across engineering, sales, manufacturing, and research teams to identify opportunities, resolve challenges, and support innovation.

    • Respond to customer technical inquiries related to power distribution products and provide accurate engineering guidance.
    • Support major customer quotes, bids, and technical proposals by providing application expertise and product recommendations.
    • Partner with design engineering teams to optimize products for customer requirements and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Investigate quality concerns, prepare corrective action responses, and support resolution of technical issues.
    • Participate in customer relationship meetings, performance reviews, and strategic discussions when needed.
    • Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new products, improve existing solutions, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams to help ensure product quality, reliability, and performance.
    • Participate in industry conferences, technical committees, and standards development activities related to cable and wire technologies.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean principles to internal processes and customer solutions.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an engineering professional with strong technical knowledge, customer orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively across a global, matrixed organization. Experience in power distribution, transmission, or cable technologies is highly valued.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
      • 3–5 years of engineering experience, ideally within the wire and cable industry.
      • Strong engineering fundamentals and ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions.
      • Proficiency with computer applications, including strong Excel skills and data analysis capabilities.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
      • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
      • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and contribute effectively within a matrix organization.
      • Experience with power distribution or transmission systems is preferred.
      • Ability to lead projects, manage conflicts, receive feedback, and motivate stakeholders toward shared goals.
      • Willingness to travel approximately 25% for customer visits, manufacturing locations, conferences, and trade shows.
