Accountabilities:

    The Lead Software Engineer will provide technical leadership across multiple client engagements, owning architecture decisions, implementation quality, and successful delivery outcomes. This role requires deep engineering expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on development.

    • Serve as the primary technical architect across multiple client projects, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and customer expectations.
    • Design scalable software architectures across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, and connected technology environments.
    • Lead architecture reviews and ensure systems meet standards for performance, security, maintainability, and reliability.
    • Write production-quality code and demonstrate engineering excellence through clean, scalable, and maintainable implementations.
    • Lead and support engineering teams by providing technical direction, mentorship, and guidance throughout project delivery.
    • Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Leads, designers, data teams, and hardware specialists to deliver complete product solutions.
    • Establish best practices for coding standards, testing strategies, CI/CD processes, deployment workflows, monitoring, and documentation.
    • Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies to ensure predictable delivery.
    • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve engineering quality.
    • Support client-facing discussions by translating technical decisions into business value and outcomes.
    • Partner with commercial teams on technical discovery, solution design, project estimation, and proposal development.
    • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of engineering talent.
    • Support production systems, troubleshooting, and occasional on-call responsibilities when required.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack engineer with a strong technical foundation, proven leadership capabilities, and experience delivering complex production systems. They should be comfortable working directly with clients, leading teams, and solving challenging technical problems.

      • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
      • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
      • 4+ years of experience developing Java-based backend applications in production environments.
      • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing engineering teams or complex software initiatives.
      • Proven experience delivering full-stack applications from concept through production.
      • Experience designing and maintaining public-facing production systems at scale.
      • Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to executive audiences.
      • Professional services, consulting, or client delivery experience strongly preferred.
      • Deep backend expertise with frameworks such as Django, Dropwizard, or similar technologies.
      • Strong frontend experience with React, Expo, Vite, and TypeScript.
      • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and scalable application design.
      • Strong experience building cloud-based systems using AWS and/or Azure.
      • Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, ECS, Fargate, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, SNS, and SQS.
      • Experience with CI/CD automation using tools such as GitHub Actions.
      • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
      • Knowledge of Docker, deployment automation, observability, logging, monitoring, and performance optimization.
      • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to lead through ambiguity and complex delivery challenges.
      • Excellent collaboration skills with a client-focused approach.
      • Must be based in the United States.
      • Must be a U.S. citizen.
