The DeepMap team at NVIDIA is delivering one of the fundamental technologies for the autonomous software stack and beyond. We are looking for hardworking software engineers to work on data collection, data analysis, map creation and map consumption software components on NVIDIA’s current and upcoming driving/mobile platforms and backend processing systems. Our team provides algorithms to analyze the spatial and temporal properties of the GPS/IMU sensor data to ensure successful map creation. Our team also builds tools to analyze lidar/camera/radar data to ensure sensor data integrity before map creation. We build tools to efficiently store and upload large amounts of sensor data for map creation. We build software to efficiently access and visualize 2D Navigational Maps and 3D HDMaps for experiments and benchmarking in map data collection and map data consumption.

You will be working on one or more of the aforementioned projects which are in the midst of the key technology drivers in NVIDIA.

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct research on algorithms and techniques to do trajectory data mining & road network topology and geometry analysis

  • Build proof-of-concept tools to enhance NVMap map building pipeline using the above researched topics

  • Perform data analysis and data preparation to benchmark the researched topics

What we need to see:

  • MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • Proficient in C/C++, and be familiar with python.

  • Solid understanding of computer architecture, operating systems and computer networking fundamentals.

  • We are looking for an engineer who is well versed in algorithms (e.g. graph theory, combinatorial & discrete algorithms), data structures and basic statistics.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with computer vision, computational geometry, robotics, and machine learning algorithms.

  • Good understanding of Linux kernel internals and device drivers

  • Experience with state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle or robotics sensors (e.g. camera, lidar, radar, GPS).

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 124,000 USD - 195,500 USD for Level 2, and 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD for Level 3.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
