Packaging Engineer

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, you will support the development, testing, and commercialization of packaging solutions across multiple manufacturing operations. This role will provide exposure to a broad range of packaging projects aligned to your strengths, interests, and professional development goals, offering opportunities to build experience across innovation, cost savings, manufacturing continuity, and supply chain initiatives. You will contribute to packaging projects while partnering with Research and Development, Supply Chain Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to deliver packaging solutions that meet business and consumer needs. You will manage assigned projects with guidance from senior team members and help drive successful project execution.

A Taste of Your Responsibilities

  • Support packaging projects from concept through commercialization, including testing, validation, and implementation activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to identify packaging improvements, resolve technical issues, and support business objectives.

  • Plan and execute plant, pilot plant, and laboratory trials while documenting and communicating results.

  • Assist with packaging specifications, package testing, cost savings initiatives, and manufacturing continuity efforts.

  • Troubleshoot packaging and production challenges and support continuous improvement activities.

Ingredients Required for Your Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of packaging experience, preferably within consumer-packaged goods manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of packaging materials, equipment, testing methods, and manufacturing processes.

  • Understanding of food safety principles, food processing regulations, and product interaction with packaging.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.

  • Financial awareness to support project decisions and business objectives.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to manufacturing sites across the Conagra networks as business needs require.

This is a manufacturing environment with large, moving equipment. Noise levels can be high, and temperatures may vary.

Compensation 

Pay Range:$64,000-$95,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
