The Boeing Company is seeking a 2nd Shift 787 Manufacturing Workplace Coach Manager (Level K) to support the 787 Airplane Program at the Airport Campus in North Charleston, South Carolina.

We seek strong leadership, interpersonal and coaching skills to further enable our business units to embrace and advance our One BPS culture, tools, and key performance indicators. Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop, and motivate a team of Manufacturing Workplace Coaches (WPCs) across multiple manufacturing business units (MBUs) to serve and help mechanics — new and experienced — perform with confidence and effectiveness

  • Own and execute a governance strategy for Structured On-Job Training (SOJT) across multiple MBUs

  • Develop and maintain multiple Skill Enhancement Centers (SECs) that simulate the production system and provide a safe, risk-free environment for hands-on training through Guided Skills Practices (GSPs); SECs are expected to contain several Guided Skills Practices (GSPs) that are an identical replica of the airplane

  • Ensure WPCs are driving meaningful improvements & tightly aligned to the business’ highest priorities, including rate and flow enablers, top defect drivers, and baseline jobs

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across manufacturing and support organizations, especially Production Engineering, to keep the team focused on the most critical production system needs

  • Communicate a clear vision for the organization and current status effectively to executive leadership

  • Champion a safety and quality mindset while modeling Boeing Values and Behaviors

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment:

To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'

  • 3+ years of experience advising & influencing managers or non-managers to meet schedules or resolve technical/operational problems

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations or support

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in leadership development, coaching, and training for mechanics

  • 3+ years of experience leading Boeing Problem Solving Model (or similar) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities

  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in a manufacturing / production environment

  • 3+ years of experience in collaborative problem solving, building relationships & professional written and verbal communications

  • Experience with 787 Airplane Program operations (or related experience)

Shift:

This is a 2nd shift position, but occasionally requires supporting WPC's on alternate shifts as needed.

Summary pay range: $111,350 - $150,650
