Spreetail is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team. As a Software Engineer II, you will work independently on moderately complex tasks across backend and data domains. You’ll build, optimize, and maintain services and pipelines that power our next-gen advertising platform. Spreetail is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team. As a Software Engineer II, you will work independently on moderately complex tasks across backend and data domains. You’ll build, optimize, and maintain services and pipelines that power our next-gen advertising platform. If you're ready to contribute to the foundational layers of a next-generation SaaS advertising platform, this team is for you.
How you will achieve success:
- Be Relentless & Drive Results: Deliver backend services and data features that meet performance goals and support the team’s roadmap.
- Act Like an Owner & Ensure Accountability: Take ownership of your code from design through production, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
- Pursue Challenges & Manage Ambiguity: Bring a problem-solving mindset to unfamiliar challenges and adapt quickly.
- Raise Your Bar & Cultivate Innovation: Continuously improve your own technical skills and contribute ideas that make the team better.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to turn requirements into reliable features. Participate actively in code reviews and team planning.
What experiences will help you in this role:
- 2-5 years of backend development: Proficiency in Python; experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- Modern Data Stack: Experience with DBT, Snowflake, S3, or AWS Glue. You know how to modify and optimize data transformations.
- Distributed Systems: Practical experience with Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL – especially in scalable, production contexts.
- Performance Tuning: Ability to optimize services and queries for speed and reliability.
- API Development: Experience building performant APIs to serve large datasets.
