The Shipping Agent Assistant plays a key role in supporting vessel operations, cargo handling, and port documentation. This position ensures smooth coordination between ship crews, port authorities, and clients while maintaining compliance with regulations and accurate records, contributing to efficient operations and a reliable service experience.

Requirements

  • Strong abilities to handle multiple shipping tasks.

  • Basic knowledge of shipping and logistics operations

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Familiarity with port operations and customs procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating vessel arrivals, departures, and port activities

  • Prepare and process shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, manifests, invoices)

  • Communicate with ship captains, port authorities, customs officials, and clients

  • Track cargo movements and update shipment status reports

  • Arrange services for vessels (fuel, supplies, crew needs)

  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and report preparation

  • Ensure compliance with port regulations and safety standards

  • Support problem-solving for delays, damages, or documentation issues
