We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Engineering Technician to support lab operations, hardware logistics, and infrastructure needs for engineering teams. This role plays a key part in ensuring lab readiness by managing hardware procurement, capital equipment purchases, maintaining inventory, and supporting facility/network operations Additionally, you will run benchmark tests on OEM laptops across Intel-based systems and competitors. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced lab environment, excels at coordinating resources, proactively resolves operational and logistical challenges, and enables engineers with data-driven insights on OEM laptop performance.

This role is for Santa Clara on-site everyday (no remote/no hybrid option).

Core responsibilities to include:
• Coordinate procurement of pre-production, production hardware, and capital equipment, including sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and installation
• Manage purchase orders (POs) and maintain accurate inventory of lab assets (systems, components, equipment)
• Support lab IT/network setup and maintenance
• Administer lab user access and ensure compliance with security and safety standards
• Coordinate facility and infrastructure needs (e.g., HVAC, power, workspace readiness)
• Prepare OEM laptop systems for testing, including hardware upgrades (SSD, memory) and BIOS/firmware updates
• Execute system level performance benchmarks (e.g., Geekbench, Cinebench, SPEC, 3DMark)
• Conduct test plans with accuracy and repeatability in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align on test priorities, methodologies, and future needs
• Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day lab operations, resolving issues and minimizing downtime

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate's degree in a technical field OR equivalent work experience
• 1 year of experience in lab operations, technical support, or engineering environment
• Basic IT/network setup and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's (BS) in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Experience with 2-3 years' experience
• Capital equipment procurement and installation in a lab or technical environment
• Experience supporting hardware labs, validation labs, or data center environments
• Familiarity with enterprise tools for asset tracking and procurement (e.g., SAP, Ariba)
• Basic understanding of network infrastructure and lab system connectivity
• Strong coordination skills across engineering, IT, procurement, and facilities teams
• Familiar with benchmarking OEM laptops
• Familiarity with industry benchmarks is a plus (ie Procyon, SPEC CPU, WebXPRT, Cinebench, Geekbench, 3DMark, etc)

• Experience with inventory tracking and asset management

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $72,810.00-102,790.00 USD (Hourly Role)
