- You will perform Chemical Kinetics modelling and conjugate heat transfer analysis to improve the performance and durability of critical Aftertreatment components.
- You will use thermal, fluid sciences and chemical kinetics to evaluate system and component performance, helping guide technical decisions that support advanced, efficient, and environmentally responsible products.
- You will develop and apply 3D CFD/kinetics models and simulation workflows for current and future compression ignition and spark ignition engine technologies.
- You will investigate thermal-fluid product or technology issues, identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and document results to support problem resolution.
- You will contribute to platform engineering development programs by helping fulfil open-loop and closed-loop Aftertreatment simulation requirements.
- You will strengthen analysis-led product development by improving modelling, simulation, testing, and data-analysis processes.
- You will collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, project teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to deliver clear recommendations that support high-quality project decisions.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong technical fundamentals in thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, Aftertreatment performance, and energy conversion systems.
- Practical experience using modelling and simulation tools such as CONVERGE, Chemkin, GT-Suite, Fluent, Boost, GT-XChem, Exothermia suite or similar thermal-fluid analysis platforms.
- Strong data analysis and visualization skills using tools such as MATLAB, Python, Tecplot, Ensight, Paraview, or equivalent software.
- Effective collaboration, communication, problem-solving, documentation, and decision-making skills to work across teams and support project execution.
