Successful candidate is digitally savvy, excels in ad-libbing and storytelling to drive engagement with viewers across multiple platforms.RESPONSIBILITIES:Accurate and creative producing and reporting of daily weather and traffic forecasts to support multiple live hits – using all resources availableAnchors, produces and contributes content to digital platforms including station’s CTV streaming app, website and social media accountCollaborates with producers, assignment desk, digital team to create timely and engaging reports across all platformsMust be able to ad-lib live breaking news with a strong ability to interact with anchors in studioMust be able to report live in the field and turn a pkg as neededStays informed on current news and community events, digital and social trends to improve quality of content and promote station brandDevelops community contacts and a network of news sourcesMaintain strong, professional social media presence to promote station brandAdhere to all company policies to uphold highest level of journalistic integrityAttend station partnerships in the communityAdditional duties as necessaryEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:B.A. or B.S. degree preferably in Meteorology, Journalism or related educationPrefer minimum 5 years TV news weather anchor experience in a medium to large marketREQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:Must interact positively and productively with colleagues and management at all timesStrong on-air presentation – must be credible, personable and passionateExcellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsMust have strong organizational and time management skills and be detail-orientedMust be digitally savvy and technically nimble to take advantage of newsroom resources and adapt to changeMust be able to accept and act on constructive direction and feedbackMust be flexible with schedule and fill-in different shifts, weekends, holidays as neededKnowledge of WSI, Baron or similar weather forecasting systemCompensation starting at $115k commensurate with experience and skill level.#LI-OnsiteSCAM ALERT: Please be aware candidates may be at risk of being targeted by scammers seeking personal data or money.
