BI Team Lead

Mandatory Skills

Technical Skills: 

  • Strong 10+ years of IT experience with application lifecycle management 
  • Minimum 4 yrs of experience in SaS Platform / Azure infrastructure management 
  • Experience of working in Microsoft Fabric (Data Engineering, Lakehouse, Pipelines, Semantic Models) and medallion architecture 
  • Proven Experience in Designing scalable, resilient, and secure frameworks for orchestration, Data Validation 
  • Hands-on experience in Python, Databricks, Spark SQL / PySpark, strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling 
  • Hands-on experience in Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, job orchestration 
  • Hands on experience working on ADLS gen2, delta parquet, ADF or Azure Synapse Analytics 
  • Experience in Server / Application Performance Tuning and Optimization, and in depth understanding of server infrastructure and lifecycle management .

People Skills: 

  • Proven experience in people management and Operational Leadership 
  • Strong organizational and process implementation abilities 
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills 
  • Capable of managing multiple initiatives and leading by example 
  • In-depth knowledge of performance metrics 
  • Foster an open, creative, and collaborative team environment 

Secondary Skills: 

  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and ITIL processes 
  • Strong background in application system management  
  • Experience supporting BI applications at L2 and L3 levels 
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills; business requirements comprehension 
  • Data collation and root cause analysis experience 
  • Firsthand experience working with Platform modernization and migration to cloud-native architecture 
  • Understanding and experience in working for AI use case for BI, data agents, data enrichment and AI lead automation and similar experience. 

Desired Skills: 

Candidate with these skills is added advantage :

  • Experience with large enterprise system and system integrations 
  • Experience in platform modernization, new age applications setup in Azure is added advantage. 
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling 
  • Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts 
  • Exposure to SAP HANA, Oracle, Talend 
  • Good data modelling skills 
  • Knowledge of management thought processes like Design Thinking, Design Thinking is plus .

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage stakeholder relationships across multi-role, multi-location technical teams, overseeing priority issues, daily operations, capacity, performance, and production support 
  • Design, implement and improve frameworks for Medallion Data Engineering in Microsoft Fabric 
  • Lead teams providing L2, and L3 support for Fabric, Azure, Talend, Tibco, SAP HANA, Qlik, and SLT applications 
  • Monitor and enhance system availability and KPI adherence 
  • Guide process improvements and ensure operational excellence 
  • Plan and execute support schedules, application patching, installation, configuration, and upgrades 
  • Drive team performance for timely and accurate delivery 
  • Identify training needs, provide coaching, and recognize achievements 
  • Identify and design automation and improvement opportunities across our data platforms 

Education :

  • IT Graduate (BE, BTech,) preferred. 
  • Experience of working in Captive is a plus. 
  • Experience of working in large enterprise systems
