As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. That means we’re continually seeking diligent, determined performers who think outside the box to help us find better and more efficient ways to manufacture our vehicles. APD (Advanced Program & Delivery) is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants.
What you'll do...
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Deliver Manufacturing Delivery Quality Operating System requirements for your specific Subsystem, which may include Electrical, Powertrain, Suspension, Exterior, Interior, or Vehicle Engineering.
- Collaborate with the Product Development team to generate facility and tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.
- Use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for high-volume assembly operations.
- Write, modify, and maintain process sheets, deliver updated cycle line layouts, and work with assembly plants to ensure a complete operator and equipment workstation is ready for launch.
- Lead manufacturing assembly builds, including Design Confirmation Vehicle, Tooling Trial, Pre-Production, Mass Production 1, and Mass Production 2, across assembly plants in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
- Lead the identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product, tooling, and Final Assembly Engineering feasibility issues.
- Create and follow a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of tools within your subsystem.
- Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site, and support tooling buyoffs at vendor facilities.
- Drive Engineering Change implementation throughout key program milestones.
Develop Lessons Learned from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs. - Support department initiatives across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional activities, including Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning and Logistics, and New Model Programs.
You'll have...
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
Experience:
- 5+ years experience with automotive assembly tooling, processes and facilities.
- 5+ years experience in one or more of the following automotive systems: Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Water test, End of Line.
- 3+ years of 3D CAD review experience (Teamcenter, Vis Mockup, CATIA, or equivalent).
- 3+ years demonstrated understanding of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and failure mode avoidance principles.
- Expertise in understanding of bill of materials, change control, process allocation and issue management systems.
- Ability to travel within North American countries (including USA and Mexico) as required, which may include supporting launch programs.

- Working knowledge in Vision system, Error-proofing techniques, and Factory Information system.
- 3+ years demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a cross functional team.
- Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.)
- Proven Project Management skills and result-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency with computer skills (Excel, Power Point, MS Project etc.)

The expected annual salary range for this Ford of Canada position is $85,000.00 - $135,000.00 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our Annual Compensation bonus program.
Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
