About this opportunity

Our client is a specialist life reinsurance company providing life reinsurance solutions across multiple international markets. The Pricing Actuary will play a key role in shaping and leading pricing activities for pension risk transfer and other life reinsurance opportunities across various jurisdictions. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with commercial impact, supporting longevity assumption setting and underwriting activities while contributing to the enhancement and evolution of pricing systems, methodologies, and processes. The role offers the opportunity to apply actuarial expertise and commercial insight in a position that will make a meaningful contribution to the organization's continued growth and success.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Own all technical aspects of pricing for annuity, longevity, and protection / mortality reinsurance business opportunities with high accountability for accuracy, timeliness, and quality control
  • Support longevity assumption setting and underwriting activities, working closely with the Head of Pricing
  • Develop, manage, and implement pricing systems and processes, including reviewing existing frameworks and launching new solutions
  • Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to support the preparation of high-quality Committee and Board papers, while managing relationships with clients, prospects, and retrocessionaires across all territories
  • Provide actuarial support to other areas of the business, contributing to business planning, financial reporting, and ad hoc business requests or projects
  • Coach junior members of the team to support career progression and maintain operational excellence
  • Develop and maintain highly collaborative and effective professional relationships at all levels within the organization

What you’ll need

  • Must be an Associate or Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent, such as ASA/FSA or ACIA/FCIA)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the re/insurance or pension consulting industry, preferably with 3 years focused directly on pricing life or annuity business
  • Strong Excel skills, including complex formula construction and structured workbook design
  • Demonstrated understanding of technical aspects of external regulatory reporting, capital and solvency requirements, and IFRS reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret financial information, identify key issues based on this data, and propose appropriate controls and measures to address them
  • Ability to design and implement efficient, robust, and effective actuarial processes, incorporating AI tools and managing appropriate controls
