The Royalty Finance team plays a key role in supporting the commercial, financial, and operational success of the business. We support royalty-related processes that help ensure financial accuracy, standardization, strong controls, and effective decision-making across the organization. 

 

This financial decision support team is a collaborative and evolving group where no two days look the same. We value curiosity, ownership, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn. Our work combines financial analysis, cross-functional partnerships, process improvement, issue resolution, and scalable problem solving. The team operates in a specialized area of finance, but the skills developed are highly transferable. 

 

About the role: 

 

This individual contributor is a detail-oriented professional with strong operational and compliance expertise with proficiency in foundational financial acumen. They report to the Global Royalties Finance Manager and will partner closely with product, technology, content, and commercial teams to ensure evolving product and content initiatives are executed in a compliant, controlled, and fiscally responsible manner.  

 

Responsibilities include royalty operations activities, implementing and improving financial and operational royalty-focused processes and controls, communicating standard business requirements, analyzing data to identify and resolve anomalies, calculating financial impacts, and driving risk-aware solutions. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical capabilities and the ability to think end-to-end across interconnected systems and processes, bringing a controls-focused mindset and curiosity to assess broader business impact.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Identifies financial control gaps, evaluates risk exposure and potential P&L impact, and drives timely remediation through structured corrective actions 

  • Performs detailed financial data analysis to detect anomalies and reinforce financial governance standards 

  • Applies established internal control frameworks to address routine control and compliance matters 

  • Proactively explores and tests LexisNexis commercial products (e.g., Lexis+ AI, Nexis+ AI) to validate business logic, content behavior, pricing configurations, and customer workflows that impact financial and royalty processes 

  • Develops, documents, and enhances financial policies, standard operating procedures, and end-to-end process flows to ensure compliance and reporting integrity 

  • Ad-hoc projects & involvement may be required to perform as the company reasonably requires

  • Analyzes complex financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities, and communicates the key takeaways into actionable insights 

  • Proactively identifies potential risks, gaps, or process issues and takes appropriate steps to mitigate them before they impact financial accuracy, timelines, controls, or stakeholder outcomes 

  • Works with moderate guidance while developing deeper subject-matter expertise 

  • Demonstrates responsible and effective use of AI and large language model tools by identifying opportunities to automate or accelerate work, strengthen insights, reduce cycle times, and improve communication, while maintaining accountability for accuracy, data privacy, and ethical application 

  • Champions governance, accuracy, accountability and operational integrity 

  • Communicates effectively to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with minimum 3 years of experience 

  • Experience in operational controls, financial analysis, compliance, or process management 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 

  • Comfortable working with structured datasets, pivot tables, and data validation techniques (in Excel and beyond). Basic SQL knowledge a plus

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $65,100 - $108,500. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
