As we accelerate our enterprise AI and automation strategy, we are investing in intelligent platforms that bridge the physical and digital worlds, enabling better decisions, greater operational efficiency, and new AI-powered capabilities across the enterprise.
Team overview:
The Automation Platform team is building the next generation of intelligence platforms that transform how Target understands, operates, and optimizes its physical environments. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the discovery, strategy, and execution of Target's Operational Digital Twin platform.
Role overview:
As the Sr Product Manager for Operational Digital Twin and Decision Intelligence, you will own the product vision, strategy, discovery, and execution for a new platform capability that helps Target understand, optimize, and automate physical operations.
At the core of this capability is an Operational Digital Twin—a dynamic digital representation of Target's stores, supply chain facilities, assets, inventory, equipment, and workflows. By integrating signals from IoT devices, sensors, computer vision systems, enterprise applications, and operational technologies, the platform provides near real-time visibility into operational performance and generates intelligence that improves decision making.
Your mission is to transform operational signals into operational intelligence and decision intelligence that improve efficiency, execution, and business outcomes across Target's physical operations.
Your initial focus will be to define the North Star vision, identify and validate high-value use cases, launch pilot solutions, and establish the platform foundation required to scale from 0→1 incubation to enterprise adoption.
Strategic Context
This role contributes to four strategic outcomes:
Operational Digital Twin – Creating a digital representation of physical operations.
Operational Intelligence – Understanding what is happening across operations.
Decision Intelligence – Improving operational decisions through data and AI.
Autonomous Operations – Enabling increasingly AI-assisted operational workflows.

Discover, Validate, and Deliver
Evaluate Digital Twin, IoT, Computer Vision, Spatial Intelligence, and AI technologies to identify opportunities relevant to Target.
Conduct customer discovery, operational observations, and data analysis to identify and validate high-value use cases.
Develop business cases, pilot proposals, and investment recommendations.
Launch pilots and proof-of-concepts that demonstrate measurable business value.
Define and deliver foundational platform capabilities that create a unified view of assets, facilities, inventory, equipment, and operational workflows.
Build Operational and Decision Intelligence
Transform operational signals into actionable insights, recommendations, and decision support capabilities.
Partner with engineering, AI/ML, computer vision, IoT, and data science teams to build scalable intelligence services.
Develop capabilities that identify operational risks, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities.
Improve the speed, consistency, and quality of operational decision making.
Establish the foundation for future AI-assisted and autonomous operational workflows.
Lead Cross-Functional Execution
Own product prioritization, roadmap planning, and execution.
Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, UX, security, privacy, and enterprise architecture teams.
Ensure solutions meet Target standards for governance, privacy, security, and responsible AI.
Drive stakeholder alignment, product adoption, and measurable business impact.
