Archeologist

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Archeologist. Duty Location: Glendale, Arizona This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation, Environmental Resource Management Divison, in Glendale, AZ. At the full performance level (GS-09) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Plans and conduct cultural resources investigations. Identifies properties that are eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, evaluates and compares impacts from proposed activities that may impact cultural resources. Assists in the preparation and review of environmental documents (i.e., environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, categorical exclusions) addressing archeological and historical aspects, objectively documenting both positive and negative impacts and identifying mitigating measures. Prepares briefings, lectures, workshops, displays, and articles on cultural resources as they relate to installation projects. Initiates and maintains liaison with archeologists, and other professionals in the State Historic Preservation Office, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, and other participating Federal, State, and local entities that are parties to formal consultations as required by Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Salary Range Information (Per Annum): $ $64,564 (Step 1) - $83,938 (Step 10) *First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
