Let’s Talk about the Role

The Site Manager will oversee the technical integrity, safety, and quality of our high-voltage AIS and GIS projects.

You will act as the heartbeat of our on-site operations, managing the successful installation, maintenance, and commissioning of critical infrastructure. By bridging the gap between our product units and our clients, you will ensure every project meets our rigorous standards while fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and collaborative problem-solving across the field team.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Leading field operations, overseeing daily management and task allocation to maximize project success.
  • Ensuring the overall quality and technical integrity of GIS and AIS installation, maintenance, and commissioning processes.
  • Collaborating with product units and clients as the primary point of contact to resolve product or installation issues.
  • Managing the identification, reporting, and resolution of nonconformities to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Fostering a culture of safety on-site, promoting best practices and strict compliance with regulations like the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Developing accurate records and quality documentation to ensure adherence to internal governance and safety standards.

Special Role Requirements

  • Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments across the UK.
  • Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

Skills for Success

You should be a hands-on leader who is passionate about high-voltage infrastructure, with:

  • The ability to lead field operations, including task delegation with subcontractors and various project stakeholders.
  • The capability to manage quality assurance processes, including identifying and documenting nonconformities.
  • An understanding of regulatory frameworks and safety standards, particularly the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • An expertise in clear communication, allowing you to plan, execute, and report on complex projects effectively.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in substation primary plant construction and installation, including AIS/GIS equipment.

A formal education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (such as City & Guilds, ONC, HND, or equivalent) is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based on-site at various client locations across the UK.
