Registered Nurse- Part Time, Days, 7am-7pm, Neuro Acute Care, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center

Atlantic Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical-Surgical Gastrointestinal/Genitourinary (GI/GU) unit at Overlook Medical Center. This part-time, day-shift role focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The RN will care for patients with a variety of medical conditions, ensuring safe, effective treatment and education throughout their hospital stay.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with gastrointestinal and genitourinary conditions
• Monitor patient conditions, assess symptoms, and promptly report changes
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient records and documentation
• Record and interpret vital signs and clinical data
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and post-discharge care
• Utilize and prescribe assistive medical devices as appropriate
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support unit operations and patient care

Education: 

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey required
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing (ADN or BSN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Medical-Surgical nursing, preferably with GI/GU patient populations
• BSN degree
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

• ACLS certification
