The Director of Risk & Opportunity Management provides enterprise-level leadership across all SAOC program management teams. This role is responsible for establishing and executing a unified risk and opportunity strategy that supports aircraft mission systems, ground systems, cybersecurity, software development, and integration activities within the SAOC System‑of‑Systems environment. The Director ensures consistent processes, cross-team alignment, and proactive risk mitigation that supports program milestones, customer commitments, and mission readiness.
This is an Onsite role at our Richardson, TX facility.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the SAOC-wide risk and opportunity management framework, ensuring alignment with Collins processes and contract requirements
• Provide program-level oversight of risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and opportunity capture across all SAOC IPTs and partner teams
• Deliver integrated risk posture and actionable insights to the SAOC Program Director and senior leadership
• Conduct enterprise risk roll‑ups and maintain the SAOC Enterprise Risk Register
• Partner with Systems Engineering, Integration Leads, and functional organizations to evaluate cross-cutting, systemic, and technical risks
• Integrate risks and opportunities into EACs, baseline planning, resource strategies, and program schedules
• Lead executive and customer-level risk reviews with clear, data-driven communication
• Mentor and guide IPT-level risk managers to ensure consistency and strong analytical execution
• Support key program milestones, readiness reviews, and integration events with consolidated risk assessments
• Champion continuous improvement, digital tool adoption, and a culture of proactive risk engagement across the SAOC program
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, systems engineering, aerospace, business, or related field
- Typically requires: Bachelor’s degree and 14 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
- 12+ years of experience supporting large aerospace or defense programs
- Demonstrated leadership in program-level risk and opportunity management
- Knowledge of mission systems, avionics integration, ground/air architectures, or cybersecurity
- Experience leading in a matrixed environment with government customer interaction
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Master’s degree in engineering, systems engineering, business, or related field
• Experience supporting SAOC or similar C2/mission systems modernization programs
• Familiarity with MBSE, digital engineering, and advanced risk analysis methods
• PMI-RMP, PMP, INCOSE CSEP/ESEP or equivalent certification

The salary range for this role is 186,200 USD - 353,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
