In this position, you will work closely with the operational team and have a clear purpose: to ensure a safe and secure environment during our campaigns. Your responsibilities will span the entire process - from planning and preparation to being present during launch operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
At SSC Space, you will receive comprehensive onboarding and training to enable you to take responsibility for ground safety during our campaigns. This is a unique opportunity to combine technology, safety, and hands-on work in an environment unlike any other in the world.
The role also involves operational work on-site during rocket and balloon campaigns, requiring flexibility in both working methods and working hours.

Location
This is a full-time position based at Esrange Space Center outside Kiruna, where you will work at the heart of our operations. The role is primarily site-based, although remote work may be possible in exceptional circumstances. During our rocket and balloon campaigns, you will take an active part in operations, which may occasionally require work outside regular office hours or at other locations.

- Planning, assessing risks, and preparing ground safety activities ahead of campaigns.
- Participating operationally during rocket and balloon launch campaigns.
- Maintaining and further developing the systems and equipment used during launch operations.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of safety routines and working practices.

Responsibilities
To succeed in this role, we believe you are someone who thrives in a dynamic environment. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and comfortable quickly shifting your focus when circumstances require it. You have a strong technical interest and a safety mindset that comes naturally to you.We would like you to have:
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience within a relevant technical field.
- Experience in safety-related work, risk assessments, or working in environments where safety is a key priority.
- A good understanding of safe working practices and operational procedures.
- Proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
- The ability to work flexible hours during campaign periods.
