IREN is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to support the development of hyperscale data center projects in the Texas and Oklahoma region. This role provides technical leadership and governance for cooling and fluid distribution systems, including chilled water infrastructure and direct-to-chip (DLC) liquid cooling systems.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and piping design reviews across all project phases, ensuring chilled water and DLC systems meet Owner standards for reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Partner with design consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors to resolve technical issues, evaluat ealternates, and proactively manage mechanical system risks.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (ASME, ASTM, MSS, FSA, AWS, MFMA, SEI/ASCE) and verify proper incorporation into consultant specifications and contractor execution.
  • Participate in site inspections, review testing activities, and validate installation quality, materials compliance, and support/seismic systems.
  • Support system flushing, testing, and functional performance verification, and ensure complete, high-quality turnover documentation to operations.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience supporting large-scale industrial or HPC/data center infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with pipe stress considerations and support design principles
  • Construction support experience including field walkdowns and as-built updates
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination processes

Other important requirements:  

  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies. 
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
